Mission Statement
The Chicago Southland Green Committee is an intergovernmental effort to promote environmentally-conscious activities among residents, businesses, schools, villages, and participating governmental agencies in the Southland area through events, advocacy, and public outreach.
Goals & Measuring Success
The goal of the Committee is to collaborate on initiatives that encourage actionable resource conservation and sustainability practices on a block-by-block, school-by-school, neighborhood-by-neighborhood basis, all of which are supported and encouraged by member governmental agencies.
Success is defined by a steady improvement in the quantity and quality of adopted, formalized, and realistic sustainability practices across the Chicago Southland area, with regular assessments to ensure that goals are being met.
